Understanding Stripe Sigma pricing

Stripe Sigma is priced based on your total charges on Stripe. This includes any instance in which your business or one of your connected accounts submits an authorization or charge request to a payment card network or processes a charge using an alternative payment method such as a bank payment.

Stripe Sigma doesn't charge a fee for multiple activities at different stages of the same underlying charge. For example, a charge that is later refunded is only billed once. We don't charge fees for activities conducted in test mode.

Pricing example

This is a representative example. You can check pricing for your Stripe account by going to the Sigma Pricing estimator.

We calculate your Stripe Sigma price based on the graduated tiers in the table below. For example, the price for your first 500 charges is $0.020 per charge and the price for your next 500 is $0.018 per charge.

We charge a monthly infrastructure fee based on your total charges for the month. If your total activity for the month is 2,500 charges, which falls in the 1,001–5,000 tier, your infrastructure fee would be $50.

For example, if your business generates 600 captured card charges and 200 card authorization requests in March, $40.40 would be deducted from your April settlement funds for your use of Stripe Sigma in March.

How we calculate your fees:

  • The first 500 charges are are billed at $0.020 x 500 for a total of $10.00
  • The remaining 300 charges are billed $0.018 x 300 for a total of $5.40
  • There are 800 total charges for the month, which falls in the 501–1,000 tier. You'll be charged a $25.00 infrastructure fee.
  • $10.00 + $5.40 + $25.00 = $40.40

Additional information

  • We offer a free 30-day trial that allows you to access all your data and test Sigma’s functionality. At the end of the free trial period, you will automatically be placed on a paid plan unless you deactivate Sigma.
  • Once you have activated Sigma, we will deduct the Stripe Sigma fee from your Stripe balance at the end of each month, based on that month’s charges.
  • If you activate mid-month, your first month’s charges will only include activities from the date of activation until the end of the month.
  • You can cancel Sigma at any time, but Sigma will remain active until the end of the month in which you cancel and fees for that month will still be collected. For example, if you cancel on January 10th, Sigma will be active until January 31st and January’s fees will be collected from your February settlement funds.
