How do I turn off payment methods?

Configurations from Payment methods settings are used to control which payment methods are turned on for surfaces like Payment Links, Checkout, Payment Elements, and Hosted Invoice Page.

Turn off payment methods

Depending on how your Stripe account is set up, you may have multiple configurations. Make sure to select the correct payment method configuration before turning payment methods on or off.

  1. From Payment methods settings, click on the payment configuration you would like to edit.
  2. Click the payment method to expand the payment method panel.

  3. Click Turn off.

Opt out of upcoming payment methods promotional trials

Depending on your business, Stripe may enable payment methods to help you increase revenue and conversion.

We’ll always give you notice before enabling any new payment methods to ensure that you have the opportunity to opt-out. Make sure to keep your email up to date from the Personal details page.

To opt out of upcoming payment method enablements:

  1. From Payment methods settings, select Change settings from the gray banner at the top of the page.

  2. Select Opt out from the drop down menu for each applicable payment method.
