# Get started with Stripe Fundraising

Use Stripe Fundraising to prepare your board approval, create and sign simple agreements for future equity (SAFEs), and receive investment funds.
Before you start, confirm that:
* Your business meets the Fundraising eligibility requirements.
* You know your business’s state of incorporation.
* You have current information for each board member. If you didn’t incorporate with Stripe Atlas, you’ll enter this information when you authorize your fundraise.
* You know the maximum total amount your board will authorize your business to raise through SAFEs.
* Each investor qualifies as an accredited investor under US securities laws. Review the definition linked in the Fundraising flow or consult your startup counsel if you’re unsure whether an investor qualifies.
Fundraising provides standardized documents and workflow tools. It doesn’t provide legal, tax, investment, or accounting advice. Consult a qualified professional about your business’s circumstances.
## Set up and complete your fundraise
1. **Open Fundraising**
   - Go directly to [Fundraising in the Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/fundraising) or from the [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com), open **More**, and select **Fundraising**.
1. **Confirm your eligibility**
   - Follow the prompts to confirm that your business is eligible to use Fundraising.
1. **Enter your state of incorporation**
   - Confirm that the state is correct before continuing. Stripe adds it to your board consent and SAFE documents.
1. **Authorize the fundraise**
   - Enter your board members’ information, if required, and create a board consent for the maximum total amount you plan to raise. Review the consent and send it for signatures. If your business already has the required authorization, you can skip Stripe’s board consent workflow. You remain responsible for obtaining any required approval.
1. **Create a SAFE**
   - Enter the investment amount, valuation cap, investor information, and company signer.
1. **Collect signatures**
   - Stripe sends the SAFE through DocuSign to the investor and company signer.
1. **Receive the investment**
   - After both parties sign, the investor receives instructions for transferring funds.
1. **Track progress**
   - View each SAFE’s signature and funding status on the [Fundraising page](https://dashboard.stripe.com/fundraising).
