Stripe Atlas supports two options for forming a U.S. company in Delaware:
- C Corporation
- Limited Liability Company (LLC)
Due to the differences between them, an entity type that works for one founder may not work for another. There are a number of factors that you’ll need to consider when deciding on which entity type to choose, including your plans for funding, taxes, and ownership structure. For more information see: LLCs vs. C corporations.
Stripe Atlas cannot offer specific advice on which legal entity type is best for you. If you would like to seek legal counsel for help, Elevate is an online legal services firm currently offering fixed fee packages to current or prospective Stripe Atlas users. Learn more about Elevate.
