### How do I confirm tax information for platform issued 1099s?
Stripe will send you an email invite to kick off the process to confirm your tax information and set up paperless delivery.
The email subject line reads "**Get your [Platform\_Name] 2025 tax forms faster by enabling e-delivery.**"
Click **Confirm Information** in the email and follow the prompts to provide paperless delivery consent, verify your name, tax ID and date of birth.

You can provide paperless consent for platform issued 1099 tax forms and edit tax details in your Stripe Dashboard.
1. Under  **Settings**, click **Business details**.
1. Click **1099 tax form details**.
1. In the **1099 tax form details** section, you can edit the information that will be used on your tax form including your personal tax details or business details.

### When does Stripe issue 1099 tax forms?
Stripe only delivers 1099 tax forms in the Stripe Dashboard if you’ve met the reporting requirements in the previous calendar year. Stripe is required to file 1099 tax forms with the IRS and state tax authorities.
Your 1099 tax form is located on the **Documents** page in the Stripe Dashboard and is made available before 31 January.
The **Documents** page is only available to certain user roles such as **Admin** or **Tax Analyst**.
### Will my platform issued 1099 tax form be e-delivered or mailed?
Your platform decides on the delivery method for your 1099 tax forms. If you agree to paperless delivery, your platform may choose to not also send a physical copy by mail. Reach out to your platform to see if they provide a postal delivery option for 1099 tax forms.
If you were expecting a postal delivery of your form, but your address was not up to date at the time of postage, contact your platform directly for assistance.
### How do I opt out of paperless delivery and re-enable postal delivery for my tax forms issued by my platform?
Contact your platform to opt out of paperless delivery and re-enable postal delivery of your platform.
If you have already opted into paperless delivery, but would like to opt out, you'll need to contact your platform for assistance. If you are changing your delivery preference from paperless to postal, you should make sure your postal address is up to date.
### Why did I have to consent to e-delivery for my platform issued 1099 tax form, but not for Stripe?
When it comes to your platform issued 1099 tax form, we ask for explicit consent for e-delivery. This means you need to agree to receive your documents electronically.
However, for Stripe, consent for e-delivery is already included in our terms of service, so you don’t need to provide separate consent.
### Where can I download my tax form?
If you are eligible to receive a 1099 tax form, you'll receive an email from Stripe stating your tax form is ready.
Your 1099 tax form is located on the **Documents** page in the Stripe Dashboard and is made available before January 31.
* Platform issued 1099 tax forms will be labeled as **Form 1099-K from [Platform, Inc] for 2025**.
* Stripe issued 1099 tax forms will be labeled as **Form 1099-K from Stripe for 2025**.

### When will I receive my 1099 tax form?
Your 1099 tax form will be located in the **Compliance and documents** section of the Dashboard. If you're eligible, your platform should make your 1099 tax form available to you by January 31st.
### Who is eligible for a 1099 tax form?
1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms are generally only issued to individuals or businesses who have met the $600 income threshold for that year. If you earned less than $600 in the previous calendar year, you might not be eligible to receive a 1099-MISC or 1099-NEC tax form.
1099-K forms are generally only issued to individuals or businesses that have greater than $20,000 USD in total gross volume and 200 transactions in the previous calendar year and are based in the US or are a US taxpayer.
The 1099-K thresholds for different calendar years are as follows:
* Current and prior to 2024: greater than $20,000 USD in total gross volume and 200 transactions
* 2024: greater than $5,000 USD in total gross volume with no transaction count
### Why did I receive a 1099 tax form?
The platform you work with is required to file and provide you with a 1099 tax form if you meet the eligibility requirements for the calendar year.
The federal thresholds for receiving a 1099 tax form differ per form type:
* 1099-MISC/NEC: >= $600 USD in the previous calendar year
* 1099-K: Greater than $20,000 USD in total gross volume and 200 transactions in the previous calendar year.
The 1099-K thresholds for different calendar years are as follows:
* Current and prior to 2024: Greater than $20,000 USD in total gross volume and 200 transactions
* 2024: Greater than $5,000 USD in total gross volume without a transaction limit
While most states follow federal thresholds, some have different filing requirements. Check with your platform about your state's reporting thresholds.
### Can I combine my 1099 tax forms issued by Stripe and my platform?
For transactions where you pay fees directly to Stripe, you’ll receive a 1099 tax form issued by Stripe and delivered to your dashboard.
For transactions where your fees are paid to the platform, you'll receive a 1099 tax form issued by your platform. If your platform is using Stripe to file and deliver your tax form, you'll receive the tax form in your dashboard.
These tax forms can't be combined.
### I want to claim a deduction for qualified tips, but did not meet the threshol. Will I receive a 1099 tax form from Stripe?
For tax year 2025, Stripe won’t issue 1099 tax forms below the reporting threshold, including purposes of claiming a deduction for qualified tips
For tax forms issued by Platforms, Platforms can edit form totals to account for qualified tips by using the tax forms editor. This is permitted by recent guidance issued by the IRS in the Form [1099‑K FAQs](https://www.irs.gov/pub/taxpros/fs-2025-08.pdf) (Q12, added Oct. 23, 2025).
