### How do I confirm tax information for platform issued 1099s?
Stripe sends you an email invitation to confirm your tax information and set up paperless delivery.
The email subject line reads: “Get your [Platform_Name] 2026 tax forms faster by enabling e-delivery.”
Click **Confirm information** in the email and follow the prompts to consent to paperless delivery and verify your name, tax ID, and date of birth.
You can consent to paperless delivery for platform-issued 1099 tax forms and edit your tax details in the [Stripe Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/account):
1. Under **[Settings](https://dashboard.stripe.com/account)**, click **Business details**.
1. Click **1099 tax form details**.
1. In the **1099 tax form details** section, edit the personal or business tax details that appear on your tax form.
### When does Stripe issue 1099 tax forms?
Stripe delivers a 1099 tax form in the Stripe Dashboard when you meet the reporting requirements for the previous calendar year and your platform files the form through Stripe. Your platform is responsible for filing its platform-issued forms with the IRS and applicable state tax authorities.
Your 1099 tax form is available on the [**Documents** page](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/documents) in the Stripe Dashboard by January 31.
The [Documents page](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/documents) is available only to certain user roles, such as Administrator or Tax Analyst.
### Will my platform-issued 1099 tax form be e-delivered or mailed?
Your platform decides how it delivers your 1099 tax form. If you consent to paperless delivery, your platform might not also send a paper copy by mail. Ask your platform whether it provides postal delivery for 1099 tax forms.
### How do I opt out of paperless delivery and re-enable postal delivery for my tax forms issued by my platform?
Ask your platform to opt out of paperless delivery and re-enable postal delivery.
If you change your delivery preference from paperless to postal, make sure your postal address is up to date.
### Why did I have to consent to e-delivery for my platform issued 1099 tax form, but not for Stripe?
For platform-issued 1099 tax forms, you must explicitly consent to e-delivery. This means that you agree to receive your documents electronically.
For Stripe-issued forms, consent to e-delivery is included in Stripe’s terms of service, so you do not need to provide separate consent.
### Where can I download my tax form?
If you are eligible to receive a 1099 tax form, Stripe emails you when your form is ready.
Your 1099 tax form is available on the [**Documents** page](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/documents) in the Stripe Dashboard by January 31. The **Name** of the form indicates whether it’s from your platform or from Stripe.
### When will I receive my 1099 tax form?
Your 1099 tax form is available on the [**Documents** page](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/documents) in the Stripe Dashboard. If you are eligible, your platform makes your 1099 tax form available by January 31.
### Who is eligible for a 1099 tax form?
The platform you work with is required to file and provide a 1099 tax form if you meet the eligibility requirements for the calendar year. A platform can also choose to file a form even if you do not meet a federal reporting threshold.
For payments made in 2026, 1099-K forms are generally issued to individuals or businesses that have more than 20,000 USD in total gross volume and more than 200 transactions in the previous calendar year, and are based in the US or are US taxpayers.
For payments made in 2026, 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms are generally issued to individuals or businesses that meet the 2,000 USD income threshold. Some Form 1099-MISC payment types follow different federal rules. If you earned less than the applicable threshold in the previous calendar year, you might not receive a 1099-MISC or 1099-NEC tax form.
The federal 1099-K and NEC thresholds for different calendar years are:
**1099-K**
* 2026: More than 20,000 USD in total gross volume and more than 200 transactions.
* 2025: More than 20,000 USD in total gross volume and more than 200 transactions.
* 2024: More than 5,000 USD in total gross volume, with no transaction count.
* 2023 and earlier: More than 20,000 USD in total gross volume and more than 200 transactions.
**1099-NEC and 1099-MISC**
* 2026: 2,000 USD or more in payments
* 2025 and earlier: 600 USD or more in payments
Some Form 1099-MISC payment types follow different federal rules. While most states follow federal thresholds, some have different filing requirements. Ask your platform about your state’s reporting thresholds, or review the [IRS general instructions for information returns](https://www.irs.gov/publications/p1099).
### Can I combine my 1099 tax forms issued by Stripe and my platform?
For transactions where you pay fees directly to Stripe, you receive a 1099 tax form issued by Stripe and delivered to your Dashboard.
For transactions where your fees are paid to the platform, you receive a 1099 tax form issued by your platform. If your platform uses Stripe to file and deliver your tax form, you receive the form in your Dashboard.
These tax forms cannot be combined.
### I want to claim a deduction for qualified tips, but did not meet the threshold. Will I receive a 1099 tax form from Stripe?
For tax year 2026, Stripe does not issue 1099 tax forms below the reporting threshold solely to support a deduction for qualified tips.
For platform-issued tax forms, you can request your platform to report cash tips and a Treasury Tipped Occupation Code (TTOC) on Forms 1099-K, 1099-NEC, and 1099-MISC before filing, or after filing as a correction
Stripe does not determine whether a tip is qualified for tax purposes. Ask your platform about the information it reports on your form, and speak with a tax advisor about claiming a deduction for qualified tips. See the [IRS Form 1099-K FAQs](https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/form-1099-k-faqs-general-information) for more information.
