# Enhanced Issuer Network

## **What is Stripe's Enhanced Issuer Network?**
Stripe's Enhanced Issuer Network is a set of industry-leading partnerships with major US card issuers and networks. Stripe shares fraud scores from [Radar](https://stripe.com/radar), its fraud prevention solution, with issuers such as American Express, Capital One and Discover to help fight fraud and improve payment authorisation models. This is done through an encrypted pathway.
## **Benefits for cardholders and businesses**
Partnering issuers use scores from Stripe Radar to reduce fraud and false declines for businesses and to mitigate checkout frustration for their customers. In fact, [33%](https://www.digitalcommerce360.com/2020/07/16/33-of-us-consumers-drop-retailers-after-a-false-decline-heres-how-to-prevent-those-losses/) of shoppers won't shop again with a business that has inaccurately declined their transaction. These partnerships do not require any work or expense from the cardholders or businesses that benefit from them.
## **Benefits for card issuers**
Issuers operate their own fraud detection and card authorisation models to decide whether to approve or decline a transaction. Using Radar fraud scores in tandem with the information that the issuer already has leads to more accurate fraud determinations.
