# End of life status for Terminal card readers and SDKs

This article covers the scheduled end of life timelines for Stripe Terminal [Mobile SDKs](https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/references/sdk-versioning) and [card readers](https://stripe.com/en-ca/terminal/devices).
To check which readers you have, view them in the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.stripe.com/terminal/readers) under **Terminal** > **Readers** or use the [API](https://stripe.com/docs/api/terminal/readers/list) to filter by reader.
## Terminal Mobile SDK v1.x – v3.x
* **June 2026**: Users running on SDK versions v1.x through v3.x to be notified about the end of life enforcement and are instructed to [plan their migration to SDK V5 or later](https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/references/sdk-migration-guide).
* **January 2027**: Terminal integrations running on Mobile (iOS, Android) SDK versions v1.x through v3.x will be blocked from connecting to card readers.
This enforcement is driven by security and compliance requirements. We are unable to grant extensions or exemptions on migration timeline.
## Terminal SDK policy
Starting January 2027, Terminal mobile SDK versions that reach end of life will be blocked from connecting to readers and processing payments.
Each major SDK version (iOS, Android, React Native) follows a 3 phase lifecycle: active development, maintenance, and deprecated, spanning 3 years from release. After the deprecated phase ends, the version is hard blocked.

## BBPOS WisePOS E
* **September 1, 2025**: End of sale notice provided to existing reader customers.
* **February 1, 2027** - Maintained: No new orders possible, warranty replacements honored. Reader is supported in all new SDK, firmware, and ROM versions.
* **February 1, 2028** - Deprecated: Software updates for critical bug and security fixes only. New SDK, firmware, and ROM versions aren't backward compatible with this device.
* **February 1, 2031** - End of life: The reader won't be able to process any transactions or store card information. This applies to all countries where the reader is in use with Stripe Terminal. Reader is removed from Docs and Support pages and will no longer receive customer support.
## Verifone P400
* **September 14, 2021**: No new Stripe orders possible, no new feature updates.
* **October 1, 2024**: Critical software updates or maintenance.
* **February 9, 2026**: The reader will not be able to process any transactions or store card information. This applies to all countries where the reader is in use with Stripe Terminal. The reader will no longer receive customer support.
## BBPOS Chipper 2X
* **January 31, 2022**: No new Stripe orders possible.
This applies to BBPOS Chipper 2X readers purchased and processing via Stripe Terminal. Migrate to [Stripe Reader M2](https://stripe.com/terminal/m2).
