# Emails for connected account onboarding and risk requirements FAQ

Platforms can receive email notifications before, or immediately when, capabilities degrade for their connected accounts. This helps platforms stay informed about their connected accounts’ statuses in real time.
Previously, platforms had to rely on the Stripe Dashboard or consuming webhook events to notify them when connected accounts were rejected or had upcoming, due, or past-due requirements.
### How can I turn off these emails?
The emails are enabled by default for Admins and Connect Risk Analysts. Individual Dashboard users can turn off the emails by navigating to [Dashboard Communication Preferences](https://dashboard.stripe.com/login?redirect=%2Fsettings%2Fcommunication-preferences#connect_account_status_notifications) > **Connected accounts** > **Restrictions and rejections**.
### Will Standard and Express connected accounts still be notified?
Yes, Stripe will still notify the individual Standard or Express connected accounts directly.
For platforms, these emails bring additional visibility of onboarding and risk requirements such as if your Standard or Express connected accounts don’t take action.
### How often are these emails sent?
* **Near-immediate emails** are sent for a risk or compliance action that immediately degrades a capability. If there are four or more connected accounts with immediate degradations in a single day, we’ll batch emails to send every six hours.
* **Daily batched emails** are sent for a risk or compliance action that degrades a capability after a grace period, typically 7-30 days.
### Can I customize which emails I receive for different risk issues?
We don’t currently support customization.
### Do you support communication channels besides email?
We only support email for these notifications. We'll continue sending webhooks and the Dashboard will continue to reflect restrictions on connected accounts in real-time.
### Do these emails reflect stricter enforcement?
No, these emails don’t reflect any changes to existing risk or verification requirements, and aren’t indicative of stricter enforcement or an increase in account-related issues.
