# Dual price indication requirements for customers in Bulgaria

_This article is provided for general information purposes and should not be construed as legal advice. If you have further questions that are specific to your business, we recommend that you speak to a legal advisor._
On January 1, 2026, Bulgaria will join the Eurozone and change its currency from the lev (BGN) to the Euro (EUR). As part of this transition, Bulgaria has enacted the “Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria Act”. This legislation sets out several mandatory requirements for businesses, including the requirement that Bulgarian businesses selling to customers in Bulgaria display prices in both BGN and EUR, using the fixed exchange rate of 1.95583 BGN to 1 EUR. The dual pricing requirements come into effect on August 8, 2025 and remain in place until January 1, 2027.
We've updated [Checkout](https://stripe.com/payments/checkout), [Payment Links](https://stripe.com/payments/payment-links), and [Receipts](https://docs.stripe.com/receipts) to display payment totals in lev and euro for Bulgarian merchants serving customers in Bulgaria. If you've built a custom payments integration or would like to display both currencies to customers in more places, update your integration to BGN and EUR from August 8, 2025 to January 1, 2027.
If you have questions specific to your business and how this new legal requirement impacts you, reach out to your legal advisor for guidance.
