# Dispute iDEAL transactions and report fraud

### How do I know if I've made a payment via Stripe?
When making an iDEAL payment through a merchant that uses Stripe for payments processing, a number in the statement description with a leading 0220 indicates that the payment was made via Stripe. If the number leads with 7140 it **may** indicate that the payment was made via Stripe.
### I have a question or complaint about my order
For questions or complaints, first contact the merchant directly to resolve any issues. If you're unable to reach a resolution, you can submit a complaint to Stripe if:
* You’re unable to resolve the issue directly with the merchant,
* You haven’t received any response from the merchant,
* You're unsure about an iDEAL payment made via Stripe, or
* You have any other concerns that require direct intervention from Stripe
[Submit a complaint](/questions/dispute-ideal-transactions-and-report-fraud?refcode=aP1x&contact=true) through our Assistant. Our investigation team will review your case and take appropriate action if fraudulent behavior is identified.
### Will I get a refund?
Stripe may only process refunds in specific cases where the merchant is confirmed to be fraudulent.
In cases other than where a merchant is suspected of fraud, we recommend contacting the merchant directly to request a refund and work with them on transaction and delivery of goods.
### Will I receive updates on my complaint?
Due to our confidentiality policies, we're typically unable to provide updates on specific actions taken regarding your complaint. However, your report helps us maintain the integrity of our platform, and we appreciate your report.
### Should I also report this to the police?
You are always free to report potential fraud to the police. By reporting directly to Stripe, you help us take swift action against potentially fraudulent merchants. We report suspected fraud to the authorities as part of our standard procedures.
