# Differences between the balance summary report and End-of-Day balance report

The balance summary report and the End-of-Day balance report calculate balances differently, which can result in totals that don't match. This article explains the two known reasons for these differences.

## FROD balance is included in the balance summary report but not the End-of-Day balance report
The balance summary report includes your fraud reserve on deposit (FROD) balance in the total balance calculation. The End-of-Day balance report does not.
If you have an active FROD balance, your balance summary report will show a higher total than your End-of-Day balance report. The difference corresponds directly to the value of your FROD balance.
This is expected behavior. To see your complete balance including FROD, use the balance summary report.

## UTC midnight transactions are counted on different days
The two reports handle transactions timestamped at exactly UTC midnight differently:
- The balance summary report counts a UTC midnight transaction on the day it occurs (for example, a transaction at 2026-04-15 00:00:00 UTC is counted on April 15).
- The End-of-Day balance report counts the same transaction on the previous day (April 14).
This difference can cause daily totals to differ between the two reports, especially if transactions regularly occur at the UTC midnight boundary. When reconciling both reports, account for any transactions timestamped at exactly UTC midnight, as they may appear in different reporting periods.
