As part of the verification process for UAE users, Stripe is required to continually verify both personal and legal documents that expire on a regular basis. This includes the following documents:
Trade license/freelancer permit
Emirates ID for all owners and managers on the account who reside in the UAE
How it works
You’ll receive an email from Stripe the month after your document(s) expires requesting you to upload the renewed document(s). You have until the end of that month to provide the new document(s) before any action is taken on your account (i.e. you will still be able to accept payments and receive payouts). If you do not provide the renewed document(s) by the end of the grace period, your ability to process payments or receive payouts will be paused.
Example: if your company’s trade license expires on January 10th, you’ll receive an email at the beginning of February reminding you that we need the new trade license to be uploaded. You have until the end of February to provide the document before payouts and charges are paused on your Stripe account.
