You can connect the Terminal smart reader (WisePOS E, S700) to your point-of-sale application by establishing a local area network (LAN) connection between the devices. We recommend an Ethernet connection to connect your reader. Note that the Verifone P400 reader also requires a connection to Stripe over the internet.

We do not recommend using a bridged internet connection in production environments.

Depending on your machine, you may be able to bridge an internet connection via Ethernet from your computer to your reader. You should refer to the instructions for your computer's operating system on bridged internet connections or internet sharing to set this up.
