# Change in circumstance and legal documentation

If there are any relevant changes made to your account, Stripe may request an updated Form W-8 or Form W-9 to confirm your new information, even if your account was already verified. Relevant changes may include your name, address, tax ID and business type.
If the change was a mistake, you can revert to your previously verified information. You’ll still need to submit a Form W-8 or Form W-9
If the change wasn't a mistake, you'll need to submit a new Form W-8 or Form W-9 and any required legal documentation. Upload your legal documentation as part of your new Form W-8 or Form W-9.
The table below lists recommended official documentation you can submit as proof of a change in circumstance, based on your business type, form type and the details you changed. These recommendations are not exhaustive.
