W-9s are typically provided when payments are made to a vendor as part of an invoicing process. Your business is not making any payments to Stripe. Rather, payments are being made to your bank account by Stripe, and Stripe’s fees are taken out prior to funds being paid. Since your business would not be sending any money to Stripe, there is no need to collect a W-9. However, since Stripe is making a payment, we do issue 1099-Ks where the amount processed is over the reporting limit:
