Amount of customer dispute is greater than original charge

The amount that is disputed by a customer could be greater than the original charge. Usually this is related to Currency Conversion, if the customer paid in a presentment currency, that is different to your settlement currency. This fluctuates on a daily basis, so the rate used when a charge is converted often differs from the rate used when a dispute or refund occurs. The returned amount can be less—or more—than what the payment provided.

You can find more details below on how we handle this, and other situation in our documentation on Dispute Amounts.
