While activating your account will allow you to immediately start accepting live payments after providing some information about your product, your business, and your own personal relationship to your business, Stripe’s “Know Your Customer” (KYC) obligations that come from our regulators and financial partners may require us to request additional information after the initial account activation.
Additional information is generally requested in order to further verify information on your Stripe account. Examples include asking for documentation in order to verify the individuals connected to a Stripe account or verify the legal entity of the business.
