In order to comply with the Mexican Tax authorities regulation, Stripe is requiring all accounts based in Mexico to upload their "Constancia de Situación Fiscal" in PDF format through their Stripe Dashboard by March 31, 2023.
If you fail to upload your Constancia de Situación Fiscal and update your tax información through your Stripe Dashboard by March 31, 2023, Stripe will not be able to issue your monthly IVA Invoices. Instead, Stripe will include your fees and tax information in a monthly global invoice issued to the general public, in this case it might be possible that you won't be able to make certain tax deductions or credits for your company.
The document must fulfill these requirements:
- The information between the document and the details provided in your Taxation information in your Stripe Dashboard must match.
- The document must be uploaded directly to the Dashboard.
- The document needs to be uploaded in PDF format, as Stripe needs to read the QR code. Information must be up-to-date and fully legible.
- Stripe will not accept any other documents besides the “Constancia de Situación Fiscal.” to verify your fiscal status against the SAT records.
If your tax information has been updated in the SAT official records:
- If your legal name and RFC has been updated, you will need to update your details in your Tax details to match exactly with the details in your Constancia de Situación Fiscal.
- If your business address or ownership details have been updated, you will need to update your details in your Business Information.
- Once your details have been updated, you will need to upload your Constancia de Situación Fiscal again in your Stripe Dashboard.
Stripe has been requesting all accounts based in Mexico to upload their “Constancia de Situación Fiscal” through their Stripe Dashboard since March 31, 2023. Any document uploaded after this date will be considered as a late submission. In order to comply with the safety and privacy of your data, Stripe will only accept documents sent through your Stripe Dashboard.

You can easily upload your “Constancia de Situación Fiscal" through your Dashboard:
- Go to the page to update tax details and log into your account
- Follow the instruction on the page to upload your “Constancia de Situación Fiscal."
Your “Constancia de Situación Fiscal” has to be up to date, fully legible and in PDF format when uploading. This data recollection process is mandatory and within compliance to the new regulations imposed by Mexican Tax Regulators, SAT.
What could happen if I don't upload my “Constancia de Situación Fiscal"?
In order to comply with the new regulation, Stripe is requesting for all Mexico accounts to upload a valid “Constancia de Situación Fiscal” PDF document via the Stripe Dashboard by March 31, 2023.
If you do not upload your “Constancia de Situación Fiscal” via the Stripe Dashboard by March 31, 2023, Stripe will not be able to issue monthly CFDI invoices for your account. Instead, Stripe will have to include your account’s fees as part of the global invoice that Stripe Payments Mexico S de RL de CV issues on a monthly basis to the general public, using a generic RFC. As a result, if you do not upload your “Constancia de Situación Fiscal” document, you may not be able to claim certain tax credits and deductions for your business.
How often do I need to provide Stripe with my “Constancia de Situación Fiscal”?
You need to upload an updated “Constancia de Situación Fiscal” each time your tax information is updated in the SAT’s official records, such as if you change your tax address, tax ID, or tax regime.
- If your legal name and RFC has been updated, you will need to update your details in your Tax details to match exactly with the details in your Constancia de Situación Fiscal.
- If your business address or ownership details have been updated, you will need to update your details in your Business Information.
- Once your details have been updated, you will need to upload your Constancia de Situación Fiscal again in your Stripe Dashboard.
