# Accepting PayPay payments for Japan-based Stripe accounts

PayPay is a popular digital payment platform and mobile wallet service in Japan. Stripe accounts in Japan can begin accepting PayPay payments once they have been approved through the onboarding review process.
### PayPay requirements
The requirements for enabling PayPay payments are strict, and take weeks for onboarding, differing from other payment methods. Before proceeding with activation, ensure you meet the following criteria.

- Business information for corporate accounts
- * For a corporate account, the business name, address and tax ID match with the information on [the National Tax Agency's Corporate Number Publication Site](https://www.houjin-bangou.nta.go.jp/). **Common error reasons**
* The registered website is a corporate website without clear product/service information.
  * Update the website to include a clear product/service description and prices.
* Accessing the invoice details and payment page requires login credentials, or payment information is being sent via LINE or email to process a transaction.
  * Provide the [additional document](https://docs.stripecdn.com/1748f3b9c9cd6ac4e1842d6baf9f659addfad81de2bac1acd283c3f3bf73b352.pdf) showing the payment flow from the homepage till payment page during the activation process.
### Activate from the dashboard
You can activate PayPay in the [Payment Methods setting section](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payments) of your Dashboard, under Settings. Clicking the Turn On button will begin the activation process. Please ensure that all information on your account meets the above requirements.
**Type of goods**
When selecting the type of goods, choose ‘Digital Content’ if your service includes any of the following:
* Digital books: e-books, e-manga, e-newspapers, e-magazines, e-illustrations, e-wallpapers
* Music streaming: Music downloads and streaming services
* Online games and similar gaming services
* Video/streaming services: movie streaming services, video downloads, and similar services
For all other products or services, please select ‘Standard’.
### Review process
The external partner reviews will take around 2 weeks. We will notify the account owner's email address in case the review requires additional information. Inaccurate information on your account may extend the review period.
### Making payments
* The maximum amount that can be processed on PayPay at a time is 1,000,000 JPY while the minimum amount is 50 JPY.

* Connect is supported but the review will take longer than typical applications. [Contact us](http://support.stripe.com/contact) if you want to apply as a Connect platform.

Funds will be available after 4 business days, as with other payment methods.
