# Accept PayPay payments with a Japan-based Stripe account

PayPay is a digital payment platform and mobile wallet in Japan. Your Japan-based Stripe account must pass PayPay’s onboarding review before you can accept PayPay payments.
## Before you activate PayPay
PayPay reviews your account before you can accept payments. Make sure your account meets the following requirements before starting activation.

  * If your website requires users to log in, submit login credentials.

  * The Commercial Disclosure page includes all required fields.
  * The legal name, head of operations, and other required information match the information registered to your Stripe account.

- * Your business name, address, and tax ID match the information on the [National Tax Agency Corporate Number Publication Site](https://www.houjin-bangou.nta.go.jp/).
  * To update this information, go to [**Business details**](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/business-details) in the Dashboard.

- Overseas corporations and non-Japanese representatives
- * Stripe must start PayPay activation for overseas corporations and businesses with non-Japanese representatives.

### Fix common application issues
* **Your registered website is a corporate website without clear product or service information:** Add clear descriptions and prices for your products or services.
* **Customers must log in to access invoice details or the payment page, or you send payment information through LINE or email:** During activation, submit [checkout flow documentation](https://docs.stripecdn.com/1748f3b9c9cd6ac4e1842d6baf9f659addfad81de2bac1acd283c3f3bf73b352.pdf) showing the complete payment flow from your homepage to the payment page.
## Activate PayPay in the Dashboard
1. Go to [**Payment methods**](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payments) in the Dashboard.
1. Find PayPay and click **Enable** to start activation.
### Select the type of goods
For **Type of goods**, select **Digital content** if your service includes any of the following:
* Digital books, including e-books, e-manga, e-newspapers, e-magazines, e-illustrations, and e-wallpapers
* Music downloads or streaming services
* Online games or similar gaming services
* Movie streaming, video downloads, or similar video services
For all other products and services, select **Standard**.
## After you activate PayPay
### Application review
PayPay typically completes its review within a few days. If PayPay requests more information, Stripe emails the account owner. The review can take several weeks if PayPay requires multiple rounds of updates.
Make sure your Stripe account information is accurate to avoid delays.
### Accept PayPay payments
* PayPay payments must be between 50 JPY and 1,000,000 JPY.
* Follow the [PayPay integration documentation](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/paypay) to accept payments.

* PayPay supports Connect, but Connect applications can take longer to review than standard applications. Stripe must start PayPay activation for Connect platforms.
### Payout timing
PayPay funds become available after four business days, consistent with other payment methods.
