# Update your tax information

**DoorDash**: Edits in Stripe Express are locked for all Dashers. Dashers looking to make edits or corrections to their 1099 tax form should contact DoorDash Support directly.
You can update your tax information from the **Tax forms** or **Account settings** pages.
## From the Tax forms page
1. Go to the **Tax forms** page.
1. Select **Confirm your tax information** next to the 1099 tax form you want to update. You can also click the overflow menu (...) next to the tax form and select **Edit information**.
1. Enter your legal name, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and address.
If you want to enter an Employer Identification Number (EIN) but only see a field to enter a Social Security Number (SSN), update your business type on the **Account settings** page.
## From Account settings
If you update your tax information from here, you still need to review any tax form info confirmation requests on the Tax forms page.
1. Go to **Settings** > **Business details**.
1. Edit the fields under **Business details**.
You can edit your **Business type** directly in this section.
Based in Brazil or Japan? If your legal entity has already been verified, you'll need to create a new account with the correct business type.
## Fix a name or TIN mismatch error
If your name and TIN don’t match IRS records, you'll see an error prompting you to re-enter your tax information. Once you update your legal entity information, you have seven days to bring your account into compliance.
The name you enter must match exactly what the IRS has on file. The best way to verify this depends on your business type:
* **Individual or Sole Proprietor:** Your name is your legal entity name. Enter your name exactly as it appears on your Social Security card.
* **Company or Corporation:** Your company has a distinct legal entity name and corresponding TIN or EIN. Enter your company’s name exactly as it appears in IRS records, including any spaces, commas, or suffixes such as LLC or Inc.
If you're unsure of your details, request a 147C letter from the IRS. This letter shows the information the IRS has on file. To get a 147C letter, call the IRS at 1-800-829-4933 to request a faxed copy. You can also write to the IRS to request the letter by mail.
