Beneficial Owners

If you operate a private company, partnership, or non-profit organization located in Singapore - review your legal entity information in the Dashboard -, you are required to verify your business and beneficial owners who own more than 25% of your business. If no beneficial owners hold more than a 25% stake, we'll need to verify business owners with a stake greater than 10%. Stripe will cross-reference the account information you've provided with the relevant Singaporean legal registries. We will verify the following details:

• Company Name
• Entity type
• Business registration number (UEN)
• For each beneficial owner with more than >25% ownership on the registry:
  • Name
  • DOB
  • SG ID number (NRIC) / Passport
  • Alias
  • Email
  • Designation / Title
  • Residential address

Depending on your legal entity type, the registry in question is:

• Private company / partnership: Business Filing Portal of ACRA
• Non-profit:
  • Charity Portal
  • Registry of Societies

Should your submitted information on Stripe not match or be absent from the registry data, we recommend updating your information with the registry board or reviewing/updating the details submitted to Stripe. Until an exact match is made, you might face restrictions on accepting payments or receiving payouts to your bank account.

Accepted Evidence/Documents

To complete ultimate beneficial ownership verification, we require the following documentation:

• Private company / partnership: a Bizfile document containing shareholder information about your business. You can retrieve your business' Bizfile document at the registry website
• Non-profit: recent annual return or constitution document

If one of your business' shareholders is a company, you are required to upload ownership documentation for any holding companies as well. You can do that in the Verifications Settings view of the Express Dashboard.
