Stripe Express
The amounts in my 1099 tax form don't add up with the Transaction page. Why?

Your platform may be reporting total gross volume, not net payouts.

The numbers in the Transactions page represent your net take home pay.

The numbers on your 1099 tax form may be different depending on the type of form you receive and the way your platform has chosen to report on the 1099 tax forms. If the numbers on your 1099 tax form differ from your transactions, it may be a result of one of the following:

  • Stripe processing and currency conversion fees
  • Shipping fees
  • Cash payments
  • Taxes
  • Refunded charges (including partial refunds)
  • All adjustments

If you believe the numbers on your 1099 tax form are incorrect, please contact your platform directly. They’ll be able to confirm the reporting method they are using this year, and help you better understand your 1099 tax form.
