# Croatia kuna (HKR) transition to euro (EUR)

On January 1st, 2023, [Croatia joined the Eurozone](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/press/economic-bulletin/focus/2023/html/ecb.ebbox202208_02~15fd36600a.en.html) and the Croatian kuna (HRK) was deprecated in favor of the euro (EUR).
Balance and bank accounts: On 28 December 2022, we converted HRK balances to EUR using the official fixed rate of 7.53450 HRK to 1 EUR.
Your bank account number (IBAN) remained the same, but it is now denominated in euros. After the transition, we continued using the bank account we previously used to send HRK payouts.
Payouts: Effective 28 December 2022, we no longer process payouts in HRK. You could create HRK payouts manually in the Dashboard until 28 December 2022. Due to the transition, payouts initiated after 28 December 2022 were exceptionally delayed until 9 January 2023.
We continued to use the same bank account we previously used to send HRK payouts. If you had both EUR and HRK bank accounts, we deactivated your HRK bank account and began payouts to your existing EUR bank account on 28 December 2022.
