# Correct or update your 1099 tax form

**DoorDash connected accounts**
Contact [DoorDash support](https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/Common-Dasher-Tax-Questions?language=en_US) directly for tax forms corrections. See Guide to 1099 tax forms for DoorDash Dashers and Merchants.
Your platform files your 1099 and is responsible for issuing corrections. Depending on what needs to change, you may be able to update some details in Stripe Express before asking your platform to file a corrected form.

## Correct the dollar amount
Dollar amounts can't be edited in Stripe Express. Contact your platform directly.
## Correct your name, address, or TIN
Updating your details in Stripe Express doesn't change the filed form. It sends your edits to your platform so they can file a corrected 1099.
1. Go to **Tax Forms** in Stripe Express and update your name, address, or TIN.
1. Contact your platform and ask them to file the correction.
You receive an email notification and the new 1099 appears in **Tax Forms** once the correction is filed.
## Switch from a personal SSN to a business EIN
1. In Stripe Express, go to **Settings** and update your business type.
1. Return to **Tax Forms** and edit your TIN and legal name.
1. Contact your platform and ask them to file a corrected form.
**If the TIN field is locked**, some accounts can't self-edit the TIN after identity verification is complete. Contact your platform.
## Request a 1099 split
If your TIN or legal entity changed mid-year, your platform can split your 1099 between two entities. Have the following ready before reaching out to your platform:
* Legal name and TIN for both entities
* Exact split date
Tax details must match exactly for a 1099 split to be processed. If you're unsure of your details, call the IRS at 1-800-829-4933 to request a Letter 147-C and they'll fax you a copy of what's on file for your business.
Split forms don't appear on your **Tax Forms** page. If your platform splits a previously issued 1099, the original form is removed from your dashboard and your platform delivers the split forms directly.
## Troubleshooting
### Check the status of your correction
Corrections can take 48–72 hours to process. Once complete, you get an email notification and the updated form appears on your **Tax Forms** page. Only the current account owner can view tax forms in the dashboard.
### If your platform redirects you back to Stripe
Ask your platform to reach out to Stripe directly so they can work on the correction together.
